Create a Work-Life Rhythm by Respecting your Space

When we are constantly "on" it can be difficult to respect the needs of those around us. We might not realize our work is spilling into our personal space or we are not respecting the need for personal time with family. By creating a work-life rhythm, we can learn to respect each person's space.

Remote work has become a reality for many of us since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020. Despite the benefits of working from home, such as not having to commute, there are still some challenges. One of the main challenges is learning how to create a work-life balance when your work and personal life are happening in the same space. How can you ensure that you can disconnect from work to really live while also being open, considerate, and respectful to those around you (to both coworkers and family members)? In this session, we’ll discuss ways to create mental distance between the spaces in your home for living and work. It will help create a work-life balance (or rhythm, as I prefer to refer to it) that prioritizes community needs.

In this session, we will explore: How to create mental distance between work and home. Why it’s important to create work-life rhythm (hint, it makes us happier and more productive). Ways to be respectful of personal space and time. The impact of creating work-life rhythm has on your mental health. And more!
